They’re a riot of vibrancy and beauty. Every row seems to compete for your attention and yet they all combine to create a harmony that I find peace and comfort in.

Today, I was inspired to create a composite image from some images I shot quite a while ago. I worked with Toma a fair bit while we both lived in Anchorage, Alaska. She's an absolute delight to work with and we had a lot of fun together on all our shoots. Nothing was too crazy to try and it was often difficult to pick our favorite images from each session. Our Harlequin Romance series was one of my favorites. We had the benefit of the skill and talent of her friend Yulia, who is a professional body & face painter.

This was one of those sessions where all the pieces came together and today, all the pieces came together once more. I love the effect, the smoke (which I shot at an entirely different time) creates with this shot.

Earlier this year I had the opportunity to go out the morning after a stormy night to capture the beauty that is the beach after the storm cleanses it. I spent a lot of time looking at the little details, that we so often just step right over.

I loved how this feather contrasted with the kelp on the beach.
